Structural Steel buildings are designed by almost every design firm in North America and in many other countries. For each design, there could be several options that are most probably corrects, however they are not all economical. Many project, particularly big project may require value engineering and significant cost can be saved in the steel frame. Additionally, engineers typically delegate connection design to fabricators, which may also cause conflicts and issues in the field since fabricators and detailers are not fully aware of the project. The course presents good practices in steel framing and in connection design to avoid conflicts and expensive modifications in the field which will result in economical design.
Learning Objectives:
At the successful conclusion of this course, you will learn the following knowledge and skills:- Learn framing layouts that results in economic design
