This course provides an introduction to installation and operation of groundwater control and dewatering systems for a variety of infrastructure features and projects. Course Outline 1. INSTALLATION OF DEWATERING AND GROUNDWATER CONTROL SYSTEMS 2. OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE CONTROL 3. CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS This course will give environmental and civil engineers and others information about the requirements for operation and installation of groundwater control and dewatering systems and equipment.
Learning Objectives
At the successful conclusion of this course, you’ll be able to identify and discuss:- Learn about deep-well systems;
- Learn about wellpoint systems;
- Learn how self-jetting wellpoints are installed;
- Learn how vacuum wellpoint systems are operated;
- Learn the important applications of jet eductor wellpoints and vertical sand drains;
- Learn how cement and chemical grout curtain cutoffs are constructed; and
- Learn about slurry wall cutoffs.
