Dr. R. Prakash Kolli is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, a MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He has worked in the areas of nuclear power plant materials degradation, structural alloy development, failure analysis, facilities engineering, project management, and research and development.  He has also taught courses in both materials science and mechanical engineering.  Dr. Kolli previously founded a company that provided subject matter expertise and technical assistance in project management, materials science and mechanical engineering to clients for technology development projects.  Dr. Kolli is currently the CEO and founder of company that is leveraging additive manufacturing for medical implants and devices. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and has published a chapter in the ASM Handbook.
