Intended Audience: engineers seeking to satisfy the continuing education requirement of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.

This course is designed to meet the Texas Board of Professional Engineers continuing education requirement that a minimum of 1 PDH per renewal period must be in the area of professional ethics, roles and responsibilities of professional engineering, or review of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Rules. The course consists of a review of Chapter 139 (Enforcement) of Title 22, Part 6, of the Texas Administrative Code. The course also includes examples of recent Board disciplinary actions. This course is based on Chapter 139 (Enforcement) of Title 22, Part 6, of the Texas Administrative Code, which has been extracted from the Part 6 document available at https://engineers.texas.gov/downloads.htm#general. Examples of disciplinary actions have been taken from the TBPE website, https://engineers.texas.gov/disciplinary.htm.
Learning Objectives
At the successful conclusion of this course, you’ll be able to identify and discuss:- Students will understand the procedure for filing a complaint involving a professional engineer.
- Students will learn how a complaint is processed, investigated, and resolved by the Board.
- Students will learn how enforcement proceedings are executed.
- Students will know the special disciplinary provisions for license holders and will understand how these provisions have been executed in Board actions.
