This Webinar will be scheduled at a later date. Please contact us to arrange the webinar to your group at a special group rated discount. In this Webinar, we’ll dive into the specific sources and effects of river water pollutants before digging deeper into water pollutants in rivers more specifically. In particular, we’ll walk through the essential stream pollutant components, methods (e.g. mass balance approach) and relevant example problems. In this Webinar we will define TMDL, BOD, COD, and DO and explain the effect of oxygen demanding wastes in water pollution. We will learn how to determine BOD5 in the laboratory, BOD reaction rate, k with graphical method. We will also derive BOD model and DO sag curve equations using first-order kinetics and solve several problems to understand the extent of water pollution. Throughout this Webinar, we’ll cover the following essential technical computations related to river water pollution:
- Effect of oxygen-demanding wastes on rivers
- Foundation, graphical depiction and laboratory measurements of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)
- DO Sag Curve (aka DO Sag Model or Streeter Phelps Equation)
- Effects of nutrients on water quality and river water pollution
Date: TBA
Credits: 2 PDH Units

Course was pretty good. Was hard to hear the presenter – maybe microphone was too far away? Content was good and thorough.
The course was good and had a lot of info. If we had slides beforehand it would have helped with my notetaking and asking more questions.
Voice was a bit muffled at times.
