Professional Engineers seeking to renew their licenses in Indiana are required to take a course on Indiana statutes and rules applicable to the practice of professional engineering. The present course is designed to meet that requirement. This course is intended for Professional Engineers in the State of Indiana who want to renew their licenses. This course is based on excerpts from Title 25 Article 31 PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS of the Indiana Code and Article 1.1 – GENERAL PROVISIONS of Title 864 of the Indiana Administrative Code.
Learning Objectives
At the successful conclusion of this course, you’ll be able to identify and discuss:- Students will learn the requirements for maintaining their licenses, including the total number of professional development hours (PDHs), rules for documenting continuing education, payment of fees, and the relation between academic course work and PDHs.
- Students will know the definition of “hour of continuing education” and “approved organization" for the purpose of providing continuing education courses for professional engineers.
- Students will know the requirements for sealing drawings and plans.
- Students will understand the terms used commonly in the disciplinary process.
- Through case studies, students will become familiar with the operation of the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers in monitoring and disciplining professional engineers who violate statutes and rules governing professional conduct.
