This course will introduce you to best practices for inspection, testing and maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems to assure reliable and effective operation in emergency situations. You will be introduced to the principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). Course Outline 1. RCM METHODOLOGY 2. ITM TASK DESCRIPTIONS AND FREQUENCIES This course will give you an introduction to inspection, testing and maintenance procedures for fire suppression systems for buildings and related infrastructure.
Learning Objectives
At the successful conclusion of this course, you’ll be able to identify and discuss:- How Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) applies to inspection, Testing and Maintenance (ITM) of fire protection systems and equipment;
- Learn the ITM task that apply to fire detection and alarm equipment;
- Learn how inspect and maintain wet pipe sprinkler systems;
- Learn testing procedures for deluge fire suppression systems;
- Find out about pre-action automatic sprinkler system inspection methods;
- Learn how water spray systems require special maintenance procedures;
- Learn the requirements for low-expansion foam system inspection and testing; and
- Learn test discrepancy limitations that can result in a fire suppression system being out of conformance with acceptable measures of reliability.
