Electric vehicle industry is in transformation phase from combustion engine vehicle to electric vehicle. Governments are actively promoting electric vehicle industry by providing incentives to end users and setting favorable regulations. We do not know timeline of this transformation as it is governed by many factors like political forces, introduction of fully autonomous vehicles, global coronavirus pandemic etc. It may happen earlier in some regions like China, Europe, North America. Opportunely, batter research and development make electric vehicles enticing future. Though having uncertain timeline, automakers like Tesla and others should ensure the early transformation. This study covers electric vehicle industry, starting with history and then moving forward with analysis using Porter five forces, Porter’s value chain analysis, SWOT analysis, Disruptive analysis, Blue ocean strategy and marketing analysis. Course Outline Currently transportation is substantial contributor towards greenhouse gas in United States and electric vehicle is best substitute to reduce them.
