Mr. Paul F. Spite
Paul F. Spite currently resides with his wife in Chesterton, IN. He began his career at Ball State University, in Muncie, IN, entering the program as valedictorian of his high school, a Top Twenty Hoosier Scholar, and a Whitenger Scholar for BSU. Little of that prepared him for what he would encounter in a design program. Nonetheless, he succeeded in graduating with dual degrees in both Architecture and Environmental Design. Following graduation, Paul has spent the last thirty-six years accumulating experience and knowledge as principal of a small architectural practice. Certified by NCARB in the early years of their program, Paul has held licensure in eleven states. Currently, he maintains it in IN, MI and IL. With part of his practice focused on church architecture, he was also accepted into the Who’s Who registry for his contributions to church design.
Paul’s interest in teaching has spanned a lifetime. Bitten by the bug, while substituting for an ill math teacher in high school, he taught for several years at colleges in Fort Wayne, IN following licensure. Decades have passed, teaching classes in churches, jails, and community drug rehabilitation programs. With all these classes, he enjoys acquiring knowledge to pass onto students. That love of learning compliments his love of writing. Paul’s personal works include numerous biblical studies, a couple non-fiction books, and short stories and screenplays for family movies. His previous professional writing includes two manuals for church design, and various articles published on different subjects related to church design and architectural practice. Creating publications for continuing education, allows him to follow his pursuit of knowledge and teaching what he has learned, by passing it on in writing.
