In this Online Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA) training course, participants will learn and apply the tools offered by SSA, the Civil 3D companion software for stormwater management and design. SSA provides users with the necessary tools to carry out the stormwater and sanitary design component of the project. The Stormwater And Sanitary Analysis course includes a series of step-by-step tutorials. Participants will be able to understand the reason behind every design step. STORM AND SANITARY ANALYSIS (SSA) vs SWMM (EPA-SWMM, PC-SWMM, etc.) Most hydrologic models are based on the EPA's Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) model. SWMM is a proven model design and analyzing urban and also rural drainage systems. SSA has a built-in capability to run a SWMM model, as well as TR-55, HEC-1, the Rational Method, and many other hydrologic models. SSA is uniquely suited for land development design due to its seamless integration with Civil 3D. HOW TO GET STORM AND SANITARY ANALYSIS It is unbeknownst to many users, but SSA is automatically installed with Civil 3D, and it is readily available out of the box. In addition to purchasing Civil 3D, another great option is to download a free Civil 3D 30-day trial version. The free Civil 3D trial is a great option for this course.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, you’ll be able to identify and discuss:- Overview of designing stormwater systems in Civil 3D.
- Delineating catchment information using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Preparing data for exporting to Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA).
- Discovering the SSA interface.
- Understanding of hydrology and hydraulic methods.
- Using the Rational Method to compute peak runoff and design storm sewer pipes.
- Calculating the Time of Concentration using SCS TR-55 method.
- Estimating runoff quantities using the Runoff Coefficient and Curve Number.
- Designing Time Series of rainfall.
- Designing a stormwater Pond in SSA to account for water quality and water quantity components.
- Estimating pre- and post-development offsite flows.
