This online continuing education course will kick off by defining hazardous waste from working, technical AND regulatory points of view. It will then jump into the historical roots of hazardous waste management including need-to-know stats and background on the hazardous waste consulting and remediation consulting markets. Next, we'll must-know outline landmark episodes in theย hazardous waste management industry (e.g. exposure to DDT, mercury, PCB, PBB as well as pivotal, historic events). After this overview, we'll dive intoย the materials that DO and do NOT qualify as hazardous wastes. We'll also differentiate "listed"and "characteristic" hazardous wastes in terms of chemical composition andย impact of ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity and toxicity. Next, we'll explore the differences between hazardous waste (HW) andย Universal Waste (UW) and their specific recycling provisions and exclusions.
