Description

The drilling operator (DO) should comply with all security policies at the project site. The DO is responsible for securing its own equipment. The DO should address any special situations in the drilling plan. When drilling in areas of known or suspected hazardous materials, appropriate health and safety precautions should be implemented. Guidance adaptable for drilling activities is available in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) documents. The DO should determine all applicable regulations, requirements, and permits with regard to drilling safety and underground utility detection. These items should be included in the safety plan.
