Description
Timber structures in a marine environment are subject to attack by a variety of destructive organisms. Thus, they should be properly treated with appropriate preservatives to prevent or retard this type of deterioration. Of the many types of wood destroying organisms, this manual will mention only those that are responsible for the greatest amount of damage to waterfront structures. These organisms are fungi, marine borers, and termites.
