Description
This technical paper provides guidance on setting water quality assessment objectives for programs and/or studies, and on developing designs for reservoir water quality assessment studies. Six typical reservoir study types are considered, and an example of each type is presented for illustration. Before initiating any water quality assessment, the objectives of the program or study need to be specified in a clear and concise manner. This chapter details a process for identifying study objectives and addressing them in a quantitative manner. Once study objectives have been clearly defined, appropriate methods to address them can be selected and a plan of study developed.
