Description
Wastewater treatment is usually characterized as consisting of four sequential processes: preliminary, primary, secondary and tertiary (sometimes called “advanced”) treatment. This technical paper is a discussion of three principle approaches to secondary treatment: trickling filter plants, activated sludge plants, and waste treatment ponds.
