E – 3142 Loop Method of Circuit Analysis
$25.00
Courses Included
This video course, covers systematically the powerful method of electrical circuit analysis known as the Loop Method. The webinar starts with a brief review of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Voltage and Current Laws (Known respectively as KVL and KCL). These laws are the most basic of the fundamental laws of circuit theory and Loop Method uses them extensively. The loop method itself is built out of several distinct steps that are well explained before moving on to meaningful numerical examples that further enhance the understanding of this method of circuit analysis. Briefly, those steps consist of assigning loop currents to each simple loop of the circuit, writing KVL for each loop. Replacing voltages with expressions involving the loop currents with the use of Ohm’s law. Solving the resulting simultaneous equations to find the loop currents.  Branch currents are then easily calculated from the loop currents. Once the branch currents are known all voltages in the circuit are easily calculated from them. The Loop Method is very general and is applicable to all linear circuits regardless of their complexity.
The theory is followed by well-chosen numerical examples and detailed steps leading to solution of each to further enhance the learning experience of the participants.
The course is intended for electrical engineers, as well as design personnel who are interested in learning fundamentals of operations of electrical circuits.
