Forensic engineering is broadly defined as the application of the engineering sciences to the investigation of failures or other performance problems. This webinar will discuss the engineering principles involved in the diagnosis of common types of accidents and failures and will include discussion of the latest technologies used by forensic engineers.
The course begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of forensic engineering and how the failure investigation and forensic analysis process works. Instruction is provided regarding the technical reporting required and how to prepare for court as an expert witness.
Structural and construction case studies will be included in this presentation and will be the basis for a discussion on professional integrity, ethics and the legal aspects of engineering.
