NTSB Targets States With Public Utilities Licensure Exemptions

The National Transportation Safety Board is standing firm in its support of a PE role in gas pipeline safety. The agency issued an investigation report that includes two critical recommendations. First, that all 31 states with license exemptions for public utilities eliminate the exemptions. Second, that a professional engineer be required to review and approve gas pipeline construction and maintenance of documents.
