Charles Schnabolk. P.E., has designed electronic detection and surveillance systems for major museums, hospitals, schools, retail stores, banks, public and private housing facilities and many commercial buildings, including the World Trade Center (1970). Other significant projects over his 50 year career as a consulting engineer involved the security systems for the entire Newark School District’s (100 school buildings) and other school districts throughout the North East. Advisor for the Newtown School District in Conn. following the Sandy Hook school disaster. Author of the first text book to be published on the topic of security technology: “Physical Security: Practices and Technology.” Introduced and taught security technology courses in the Criminal Justice Department at several colleges since 1979 and conducted a quarterly 7 PDH credits course at Pratt Institute for 25 years.

Mr. Schnabolk recently designed the nation’s largest water bound solar powered wireless CCTV Surveillance System to monitor 28 DEP sewer containment sites in NYC rivers and bays. Also designed the unique cyberlock system to protect the 270 token booths of the NYC subway system. He was the inventor of the painting protection security system “ArtGuard” installed in 80% of the nation’s major museums and was the first engineer to design, install and obtain authorization to lock fire exits in both directions in public buildings (1984).
