E – 1568 On-Site Renewable Energy Generation

$75.00

This online engineering PDH course describes how local governments can use on-site renewable energy generation to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve air quality and energy security. Renewable energy resources, such as solar, wind, biomass, hydropower, and landfill gas, reduce GHG emissions by replacing fossil fuels. Renewables also reduce emissions of conventional air pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide, that result from fossil fuel combustion. This course describes these technologies and gives actual examples of communities in which the technologies have been successfully implemented.

This course is based on the Environmental Protection Agency document, “On-Site Renewable Energy Generation, A Guide to Developing and Implementing Greenhouse Gas Reduction Programs” 2014, from the EPA’s Local Government Climate and Energy Strategy Series.
