  • Be able to plot two points on the psychrometric chart and determine the other three characteristics of the air at those conditions.
  • Determine the mixed air conditions of a cooling coil from indoor conditions and required OA volumes at design conditions.
  • Understand the air treatment process flows on the psychometric chart (heating cooling, humidification, dehumidification).
  • Understand the difference between relative humidity and specific humidity.
  • Select and use the correct psychrometric chart for altitude.
  • Understand how to determine the sensible capacity, latent capacity and total capacity of a heating/cooling process.
  • How to calculate the leaving air temperature of an evaporative cooler (and capacity based on CFM).
  • Understand what a cooling coil bypass factor is and how it is calculated.
