This online engineering PDH course describes the Clean Air Act. The Act was passed by Congress in 1970 and gave the newly created Environmental Protection Agency authority to clean up air pollution in the country. The course provides a brief introduction to the programs, philosophies, and policies in the Act. The control of air pollution from vehicles, the issue of acid rain, the reduction of toxic air pollutants, the protection of the ozone layer, and permitting and enforcement are all discussed.
