E – 1203 Geotextiles in Erosion Control
$75.00
Courses Included
This course will introduce you to geotextiles made from polypropylene, polyester, polyethylene, polyamide (nylon), polyvinylidene chloride, and fiberglass. You will learn about their erosion control applications. Erosion is caused by a group of physical and chemical processes by which the soil or rock material is loosened, detached, and transported from one place to another by running water, waves, wind, moving ice, or other geological sheet and bank erosion agents. Clayey soils are less erodible than fine sands and silts. You will learn about geotextile applications in bank erosion, runoff collection, diversion ditches and sediment control.
